Today WordPress releases it’s new stable version application WordPress 2.3.3, supposed to be an “urgent security release”. The said version was about “A flaw found in our XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow any valid user to edit posts of any other user on that blog” according to WordPress blog.

Is it necessary to upgrade your to WordPress 2.3.3? No, it is not the end of the if you do not update your WordPress. However, you are putting your site at an increased risk of being exploited. A bug was found on WP-Forum plugin so if you are using the plugin they suggest to remove it until the author updates its version.
